But we were especially taken with a little application that makes one thing every real estate practitioner does easier.

The app is called Kanubee. It’s a web based photo editor. A dead simple one – not a bell or whistle to be found. And that’s a beautiful thing.

The first question I asked the guy at their trade show booth was “Why wouldn’t I just use Picnik?”, the leading (and more feature-rich) online photo editing app. It was a stupid question.

I – or, more importantly, a real estate practitioner – would use Kanubee because it’s just easier. It has pretty much everything someone editing property photos needs pretty much all of the time. Where most apps succumb to the siren song of edge cases and power users, Kanubee held firm.

99% of their prospective users will thank them for it.

Kanubee has another hook, though. It offers one feature that is appealing to a real estate users specifically: a way to drop your logo onto every photo as a watermark or badge. Again, nothing earth shattering, but it’s a nice touch. I think we’ll see more of this sort of thing this year: apps that offer a “real estate” flavor of already popular software categories.
